c 1762
The Jan VanAken family begins to use a quarter acre plot along the road to the Greenkill Ferry as a family ground.
c 1770
The VanAken family allow friends and neighbors including the Freer family to be buried in their family ground.
06 November 1804
The Trustees of the Corporation of Kingston deed to Peter VanAken the quarter acre plot for use as a community "burying yard" for the residents of Saint Remy for $1. (4/235)
10 September 1852
Abraham VanAken and deeds an additional quarter acre plot adjoining the burying ground to William M. Freer Trustee of the "Greenkill Burying Ground" for $15. (83/561)

Additional VanAken lands are added to the burying ground. It now runs to the top of the hill.
1892
The Saint Remy Rural Cemetery Association is formed. Owners of plots in the "old" section are encouraged to add their lots to the association's lands and care for a small fee.


17 May 1938
The Pokonoie Tribe of Redmen sells 0.83 acres adjoining the southerly side of the Cemetery and surrounding the Roosa Family Ground to the Cemetery Association for $800. (595/391)
30 June 1986
The Saint Remy Fire District sells about one acre adjoining the southerly side of the Cemetery to the Cemetery Association for $1. (1622/188)
